In the game against the Wolf Pack last Friday, Kelly kicked two 45-yard field goals and two extra points, including the 45-yard field goal to seal a 28-26 victory with just seconds on the clock. With an undefeated record at stake and 15 seconds left in the game, the Warriors trailed the Wolf Pack by one point. On his first attempt, Kelly sent the ball flying between the posts, but the kick was nullified by a Nevada timeout called prior to the snap. On his second try, the junior place kicker again sent the ball through the uprights.
"It was nice he (Nevada head coach Chris Ault) called a timeout, actually, because the first one was ugly, and we can agree that it was an ugly kick, but we made it," Kelly said. "It was just a nice little practice run."
Graunke completed 33 of 46 pass attempts for 358 yards and two touchdowns in the Warriors' win. The junior quarterback recorded no interceptions and rushed for one touchdown. Graunke started in place of the injured Colt Brennan, who suffered a concussion in the previous game.
"It feels great, (but) I'm not all about individual accomplishments, just as long as we get the victory," Graunke said. "It just feels great to get recognized."
