Issue date: 12/3/07 Section: Commentary
These people from present and former U.S. Pacific island possessions have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. The number is relatively high compared to U.S. states. For example, while 20 from Hawai‘i have died, our state has over 1.2 million people. American Samoa, from which at least eight have died, has about 57,000 people.
