Prince Edward (James Marsden) seeks Giselle (Amy Adams) to be his princess, and the two of them are destined to live happily ever after. However, when his stepmother (Susan Sarandon) interferes with the wedding, the storybook characters find themselves trapped in New York City.
As Giselle searches for her way back to the castle, she befriends Robert (Patrick Dempsey), a widower who believes that life is no fairy tale. Robert teaches Giselle that there is an exciting world that extends beyond her storybook land, and Giselle teaches him that true love does exist and fairy tales can come true. Although not a typical fairy tale, it is safe to say that in the end, the characters each find their own happily-ever-after ending.
Anyone who has seen a classic Disney fairy tale will find the parodies comical. Although the plot is relatively predictable, the story line itself is cute and heartwarming. The movie kicks off as a cartoon and each character is later brought to life in New York City.
Amy Adams is hilarious as she brings her storybook cartoon character to human form. Not only will children be entertained, but adults will enjoy the humor and the story line too.
This movie has been No. 1 at the box office for two weeks in a row now. Playing islandwide at both Consolidated and Regal Theatres, "Enchanted" is a must-see.
