The University of Hawai‘i coed and women's sailing teams both swept their respective regattas this weekend in the annual Rainbow Invite. Representing Hawai‘i were two teams in each regatta, but it was the Rainbows Black team that took first place in the coed and women's regattas.

The 'Bows, ranked 16th in the latest Sailing World, placed the Black and White teams in the coed regatta. In the A division, junior Mike Scott and sophomore Jaclyn McLoughlin led the Black team to victory with a 23-point finish.

In the B division, UH featured senior Andrew Meade and McLoughlin. The pair tallied a division high 21 points, giving Hawai‘i a total of 44 point from both divisions as well as placing them well ahead of second place finisher USC with 72. The White team finished third in the coed regatta with an 89-point finish. Each division raced 12 times.

On the women's side, UH again recorded a first place finish out of six other teams with a 50-point total. Western Washington and UC Irvine both tied for second place with 66 points. The women's Black team featured senior Becky Mabardy and sophomore Darla Baldwin who placed third in the A division with 36 points.

UH's sailors in the B division were freshman Hannah Tuson-Turner, and juniors Danielle Hull and Whitney Hohl. The team recorded a 14-point finish, the best of the division, and propelled the `Bows into first place. The White team finished seventh in the regatta with 157 points.
