Members of the Rainbow Wahine soccer team show their WAC tournament trophy, as well as the conference title during the halftime presentation Saturday night.

In front of a crowd of about 5,500 people, at the Stan Sheriff Center Saturday night, the University of Hawai‘i women's volleyball and soccer team, along with the Warriors football team were recognized for capturing their respectable conference titles.

The Rainbow Wahine soccer and volleyball teams were also presented with the Western Athletic Conference tournament trophies at the presentation.

As each team made their way onto court level of the Stan Sheriff Center, announcer, Billy V. announced to the crowd all the accomplishments and achievements each team received during the course of the season. Each team broke school as well as national records throughout the season.

Junior linebacker Adam Leonard felt that the recognition the WAC championship teams were getting was because of the support from the fans. Leonard stated," I believe that it shows what our state, Hawai‘i, is about because it shows that they support UH athletics."

During the presentation, after the football team was recognized, Billy V. also introduced the new head football head coach, Greg McMackin, who received a standing ovation. McMackin waved to the crowd before the conclusion of the ceremony.
