"He's one of those guys that everyone on the field today wishes were on their team," Tampa Bay quarterback and four-time Pro Bowler Jeff Garcia said. "The guy is just an outstanding running back, and he has such a bright future ahead of him. It's very rare that a player comes onto the team and dominates like he is capable of dominating, and he showed today why he is going to be one of those guys that people aren't going to look forward to seeing on the field."
Peterson recorded 129 yards and two touchdowns to become the first rookie to win the MVP award since Marshall Faulk, who received it in 1995.
Dallas Cowboys wide reciever Terrell Owens also aided his team, after the AFC took a 24-7 lead. Owens caught eight passes for 101 yards and two second-half touchdowns.
"(The Pro Bowl) never gets old. I know I'm getting old, but to be invited back is an honor, and then to finish it off with a win is a nice touch to what was a pretty good season for us all," Garcia said. "So, it's one of those things where we can head into the off-season with a smile on our face."
