We all want people to accept our views, and we all become irritated when others don't see things the way we do. When a person's views become extreme, some people call for media censorship. I find that to be a dangerous (and dubious) proposition.
Queer rights are the newest addition to the civil rights movement. Unfortunately, this is hardly reflected in the diversity mission of the University of Hawai‘i. The overarching policies protecting students of different sexual orientations or gender identities need some attention.
