The No. 20 Nevada Wolf Pack defeated the No. 22 and WAC tournament host Rainbow Wahine Friday night in a semifinal game of the Western Athletic Conference Softball Tournament. The Rainbow Wahine dropped to 38-19, and for the third straight season, the Wolf Pack eliminated the 'Bows from the WAC tournament.
After losing seven seniors to graduation, including playmaker Matt Gibson and center Stephen Verwers, head coach Bob Nash has been forced to recruit heavily for next year. As of the end of April, he has signed six new recruits: four juniors, a sophomore and a freshman.
After winning the Western Athletic Conference tournament title and earning its first-ever berth to the NCAA tournament, the University of Hawai‘i Rainbow Warrior tennis team traveled to Malibu, Calif., to compete against the No. 13 Pepperdine Waves in the first round of postseason play.
