Donovan, Sheriff placed on paid administrative leave

The UH Chancellorʻs office held a press conference late this afternoon to announce that athletic director Jim Donovan and Stan Sheriff Center manager Rich Sheriff have been placed on an paid administrative leave.

UH vice president Rockne Freitas has been named interim athletic director. 

Officials will be initiating a third party investigation into the canceled Stevie Wonder benefit concert, where it appears that university may have used an unauthorized promoter to book the show without the knowledge of Wonder. Donovan announced in a brief press conference on Tuesday that the show had been canceled and that refunds would be available starting today.

It is unknown at this time how long the investigation will take.
