T-shirts are essential wardrobe items for many college students.
They can be worn to classes, the gym and, of course, at football games.
But for some women attending football games, the games give them the opportunity to make a unique T-shirt using their imagination and a pair of scissors.
With multiple ways to create a customized T-shirt, the options to stand out are plentiful.
“It’s more fun than just wearing a plain old boring T-shirt,” said Ivy Robertson, a senior P.E. and health education major. “Usually, I try to have a shirt that no one else does, which can be kind of tough, so cutting it helps to make it look completely different.”
Coming up with an idea to make a shirt is easy – the hard part is putting that idea into action.
For Robertson, the amount of time it takes to cut a T-shirt depends on what she is trying to do with it.
“Some take one minute just to cut straight across, but others have taken some concentration with the scissors,” she said.
As a devoted Warrior football fan, Robertson tries to customize a new shirt each season, with inspiration coming from other custom shirts that she has seen or something she thinks will look cool.
She said that customizing her T-shirt adds to the football experience because “it’s just fun and something else to do to get ready for game day.”
